Leaving Edinburgh and the Heat Behind

After three days exploring Edinburgh I picked up my rental car and took a seat behind my apple red of-Corsa. This is my first time in the UK and the first time driving on the left. I headed out on the road and immediately landed in a turn only lane when I needed to go straight, something TomTom failed to tell me. So I stood my ground to the honking objections an waited for the green light.

The Scottish take there walking seriously. I walked along this well marked path down to the River Tay.

There are plenty of places to rest along the way including these his and her’s carved stumps.

This rock Grotto is cut into the river bank and provides a cool shelter and lovely view.

At the end of the path is a popular fishing spot.

On my way back I stopped on the bank of the Tay. While I lay there I heard a splash then another. I sat up in time to catch a fish jumping. I’ve done a lot of hiking on this trip so far so to sit for a bit by the river and soak my feet in the cool water was a treat.
